Kiwanis One Day of Caring

On Saturday, April 5, members of the Opelousas Kiwanis Club participated in Kiwanis International's One Day of Caring, a day dedicated to service projects by its member clubs. Our club visited the Opelousas Lighthouse Mission and built two picnic tables for the residents of the center. The day concluded with a gumbo lunch prepared by our club members and some fellowship with the residents. Thank you to all that participated in making the service project a success.

Christmas Project

Club Members Amanda Tanner, Scott Pitre, Perry Hubbs, Wyvos Edmond, and Dirk Boudreaux distributed bags of fruit to the students, staff, and faculty of North Elementary. Additional bags were delivered to the Superintendent Michael Nassif at the central school board office and to the men at the Lighthouse Mission. Over 500 bags of fruit were prepared by members Perry Hubbs, Gene Kidder, Scott Pitre, Dirk Boudreaux, and Anne Jones. Thank you to Teche Federal for the candy canes that were included in the fruit bags.
